Terms of Service
Last updated: August 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
SC01Guide.com (“the Site”) is operated by Vermel Ventures LLC, a California limited liability company (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Site. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Informational Purposes Only
All content on SC01Guide.com is provided strictly for informational and educational purposes. Nothing on this Site constitutes professional, legal, financial, mechanical, or automotive advice. The information presented is based on the records described in section 4, publicly available data, and community knowledge. It should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any purchasing decision.
3. No Warranty or Guarantee
SC01Guide.com makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or currentness of any information on the Site. Supercharging records, option codes, vehicle configurations, and Tesla policies can be incomplete, stale, or change at any time at Tesla's sole discretion. Information that was accurate at the time of publication may become outdated without notice.
4. VIN Lookups and Complimentary Reports
A VIN lookup and the report it produces draw on the factory build record for that VIN, manufacturer vehicle data where it is available, the public VIN decoding standard, and our own option code research. Build dates are shown as recorded, or as an estimate when no date is on record. An estimated build date is an approximation drawn from known data points and may not match the actual manufacture date. A report labels each value as Reported, Derived, Estimated, or Not available. A lookup or a report does not prove that any Supercharging benefit is active or will transfer with the car. A dated record or a seller-provided screen can be incomplete or out of date. Verify charging and transfer treatment for the exact car with Tesla before purchase.
Your account gets three complimentary reports a day. A lookup and the report it produces are one thing, so every lookup uses one of the three, whether or not a Supercharging code is found. The count resets at midnight Pacific time, and unused complimentary reports do not carry over. Complimentary reports have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged.
We count the daily allowance against your account, and also against the device and the network connection you use, so that extra accounts do not create extra complimentary reports. A lookup can be refused when that device or connection has already used its complimentary reports for the day, even when your own count is not used up.
We may change the number of complimentary reports, add conditions to them, pause them, or stop providing them at any time, for one account or for everyone. A change to complimentary reports never affects reports you have purchased or a report already generated and saved in your account.
5. SC Code Finder Tool
The SC Code Finder tool processes text that you paste into the browser. All processing occurs entirely on your device (client-side). No data is transmitted to SC01Guide.com or any third party. You are solely responsible for the source and handling of any data you paste into this tool.
6. Buyer and Seller Responsibility
All verification of SC01 status, vehicle condition, mechanical fitness, and transaction terms is the exclusive responsibility of the buyer and seller. SC01Guide.com is not a party to any vehicle transaction and assumes no responsibility for the outcome of any purchase, sale, or negotiation. Buyers should independently verify all information through multiple methods, inspect vehicles in person or through a qualified third party, and consult qualified professionals before making any purchase decision.
7. Accounts
An account is required to run a VIN lookup, to buy reports, and to open the reports saved in your account. We use passwordless sign-in: you enter your email address and confirm a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for activity that occurs under your account.
An account is for one person or one business. Do not create additional accounts to get more complimentary reports or to get around a limit, and do not sell, resell, or offer reports or lookups as a service to others unless we agree in writing. Automated access, scripts, and bulk requests are allowed only through a feature we have enabled for your account, such as batch reports or an API key we issued. We may apply rate limits and other technical limits to protect the service. Where we reasonably believe an account is being used for abuse, fraud, or evasion of a limit, or otherwise in breach of these terms, we may refuse further complimentary reports, take back any we granted, and limit, suspend, or close access to the Site or to any feature. If we close an account, access to the reports saved in it ends. Refunds for unused purchased reports are handled under our Refund Policy.
8. Purchased Reports and Payment
Your account receives complimentary reports as described in section 4. Beyond those, we sell fixed quantities of full vehicle report services in packs. Each unit purchased entitles the account holder to ask us to generate one full vehicle report. Purchased reports are not stored money, gift cards, cash balances, or general payment instruments. Current prices are shown on our Pricing page and are stated in US dollars; we may change prices at any time, but a change never affects reports you have already purchased. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes the payment and billing details needed to complete the transaction. We receive transaction confirmation and related customer details needed to add purchased reports, provide support, prevent fraud, and process refunds. We do not receive or store your full card number. By purchasing, you authorize the applicable charge and confirm that the payment details you provide are your own.
Purchased reports have 12 calendar months of standard availability plus one automatic 90-day grace period. Your account shows the final date including grace. Each purchase is a separate lot with its own date, and a later purchase does not extend an earlier lot. Complimentary reports that we add to your account by hand, for example as a courtesy or a promotion, expire 30 days after we add them and are used before purchased reports. A report you have generated stays in your account. Thirty days after it ran we mark it expired, because it records what we found on that date. You can still open and download an expired report. You cannot create a new share link for it, and a share link you already created stops working. Complimentary reports of any kind have no cash value and are not refundable or transferable. If report generation fails, we restore the exact report used and record that restoration. If its source lot is within seven days of its final date, the restored report receives at least seven usable days. A later change to these terms will not shorten the final date already shown for an existing purchased-report lot.
9. Refunds
Purchased reports and generated reports are digital products. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms and explains when a refund is and is not available, and how to request one.
10. Changes to the Service
We may change, suspend, or stop any part of the Site or the report service. If we permanently close the report service, unused purchased reports are handled under our Refund Policy. If we do not enforce part of these terms straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SC01Guide.com, its owners, operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of or reliance on the Site, including but not limited to financial losses, vehicle purchase decisions, mechanical failures, disputes between buyers and sellers, loss of supercharging benefits, changes to or the ending of complimentary reports, refusal or limiting of access under section 7, or any other damages of any kind.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, tools, and services (such as EV-CPO.com, used by the verification guide, and the NHTSA vPIC API, used when we decode a VIN). SC01Guide.com does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party sites or services. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their respective terms and policies.
13. Intellectual Property

14. No Affiliation with Tesla
SC01Guide.com is an independent, community-driven resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Tesla, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from the use of this Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, except where applicable consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
